Marion County sheriff’s deputies use helicopter to chase stolen motorcycle

Marion County sheriff’s deputies made use of their resources to arrest a man suspected of stealing a motorcycle.

Before the arrest, deputies say Tyler Beers, 32, sped away from them during a traffic stop along Highway 4-41.

Instead of keeping up with the chase, officials used their helicopter Air One unit to track beers until he made a stop.

Deputies learned the motorcycle was stolen out of Gainesville.

Beers is in the Marion County jail on charges of Grand Theft Auto, fleeing and eluding, and various drug charges.
