The duty of alms-giving is declared both by nature and revelation : by nature, because it flows from the principle imprinted within us of doing to others as we would they should do to us ; by revelation, in many special commands of Scripture, and in the precept of Divine Charity which binds us to love God for His own sake, and our neighbor for the sake of God. BUT the duty to help the true Catholic Church to continue is commanded by Divine Command recorded in the Holy Scripture, and this for the sake of the eternal salvation of souls, as the true Catholic Church is bound to fulfill Her Divinely given mission to do so, by the supernatural assistance of the Holy Ghost, so that when the Church lacks means to continue, the devil and his evil scheme of destruction of souls benefits and the wrath of God befalls all offenders, one way or another, no mater what vain excuses they are able to produce to the contrary...
