We have 4 for 1 special with the dragon ball movie review omnibus today. Dragon Ball is a very popular anime and manga franchise which features Son Goku and his friends on their adventures to collect the dragon balls and fight powerful enemies such as Frieza.

Before Dragon Ball became Dragon Ball Z, there was a total of 3 movies released by TOEI Animation to promote the anime and manga. They Dragon Ball: Curse of The Blood Rubies, Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle, and Mystical Adventure. All three were released in the 1980s, starting in 1986 with the Curse of the Blood Rubies. Movie was part of a triple feature that was meant to promote other anime and manga franchises at the time. This is why the 1st three movies are roughly 45 minutes in length and feature animation slightly better than what you would see on an episode made for TV.
In 1996, Dragon Ball: Path to Power was released. This being the 1st true feature length movie of the franchise. Studio Ghibli even lent a helping hand for this one, but that is a rumor. What is true is that this movie is the best animated of the 4 and is a re-telling of the 1st few arcs of the Dragon Ball Story.
