Who Was the "Isdal Woman"? 💀🕵️🤔

In the closing weeks of 1970, the badly burned corpse of a female was discovered lying on the side of an isolated Norwegian valley. Body beaten and desecrated, yet her cause of death was ruled "suicide via sleeping pills" by the coroner. Her fingertips had been removed and her clothing labels had been cut away to conceal her identity. A suitcase thought to be hers, also modified to remove all branding, with a hidden compartment containing foreign currency, was found at a busy train station. She was last seen being chaperoned by 2 men, seemly against her will. People who interacted with her reported that she was fluent in multiple languages. Investigation found that she traveled throughout Europe using multiple passports containing different names and pictures where she had altered her appearance for each. It is believed she was a spy, that was either caught or ran afoul of her employers. Her true identity and mission during the height of the Cold War has continued to elude the authorities right up until this very day. In this story we ask, who was the “Isdal Woman”?
