Hit & Run Suspect Flips Car & Runs Across Freeway

On 10/05/24 at approximately 10:54 PM, California Highway Patrol & Chula Vista Fire responded to reports of a traffic collision on the northbound I-5 just north of Palm Ave. Upon arrival, they found a two-vehicle collision with a BMW sedan having flipped onto its roof. The driver was seen exiting his vehicle and running across all lanes of traffic. One person in the victim's vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries per CHP. The driver had not been located. We will provide updates as they become available. CHP is investigating.
