Body text:

Let's continue to the 3rd of the 5 C's of complaining, criticizing, concern, commiserating, and catastrophizing. Today we are going to discuss the third of the 5 C's, Concern. I hope by doing so, I can release myself from the trap of this negative mindset. Let's see how we can relate today's topic and how it impacts my life.

today we will discuss Concern

Concern is natural, especially when I care deeply about someone or something. But when concern crosses the line into constant worry, it starts to take over my thoughts and emotions. Instead of helping me feel more in control or prepared, excessive concern keeps me trapped in anxiety, always thinking about worst-case scenarios. I start to live in the "what ifs," imagining everything that could go wrong, and it robs me of peace in the present moment. When I’m overly concerned, it’s like carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders, and it becomes exhausting, both mentally and emotionally.

This constant state of concern doesn’t just affect my mindset—it affects how I interact with others, too. I might start trying to control situations or people to ease my own worries, and that often leads to frustration. No matter how much I worry, I can’t control everything, and the more I try, the more out of control I feel. Over time, this habit of over-concern can drain my energy and take away from my ability to enjoy life as it is. I get stuck in my head, always anticipating problems, and it keeps me from fully engaging in the present or seeing the positive things around me.

To break free from this habit, I need to practice letting go of what I can’t control. I can start by recognizing when concern turns into unproductive worry and remind myself that not everything is mine to fix. Focusing on what’s within my control—my actions, my attitude—helps me feel empowered, rather than overwhelmed. I also need to practice trusting the process and the people around me. When I choose to release the need to worry about every detail, I make room for peace, clarity, and focus. By doing this, I can shift my concern from anxiety to healthy, solution-focused thinking.

To make it as simple as I can, it goes like this... I can only focus on so many things t one time. Really, maybe 6 to 10 things. Things like the sound of this video, the temperature of the room I am in... etc... so, if I fill my focus on the things I can control, and things I want to focus on, things that benefit me, I leave no room for the concern for the things I cannot do anything about. I am not pretending they will go away, but I can take a break from the weariness of overactive concern.
