Conjoined Twins Chang and Eng Bunker's Final Resting Place

We are visiting Chang and Eng Bunker's grave at the White Plains Baptist Church in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Chang and Eng were conjoined twins born in 1811 in Thailand (known as Siam at the time). The term “Siamese Twins” was coined and used during their days touring in what was known as “freak shows” during the early 1800s. They were very successful and amassed a small fortune touring with P.T. Barnum’s circus, which they used to retire, buy a farm in Mount Airy, marry sisters, and raise a combined family of 21 children.

Today we visit the grave, and do a brief walk-through of the cemetery.
