This chapter discusses Elohim's future dealings with the nation Israel. The relationship of Elohim with Israel is one that is not properly defined by churches today. Paul told us Elohim is not through with His people.
(Romans 11:1)
Paul says that Israel, as a nation through their own disobedience, did not obtain salvation. However, the elect remnant remained as His people. We are told in the days of Elijah, there were 7000 Israelites that still kept by Elohim.
(Romans 11:2-4)
That remnant is what Elohim worked with, but the rest were blinded.
(Romans 11:5-7)
Elohim has given them blindness, deafness, and the spirit of slumber.
(Romans 11:8)
Why did Elohim blind the nation of Israel (except for the remnant)? This was all part of His plan of salvation for the Gentiles.
(Romans 11:10-15)
Israel was founded to be a holy nation.
(Ex. 19:6)
Peter tells us that we are now a part of the nation of Israel through faithfulness.
(1 Peter 2:9)
Paul tells us that Israel is the firstfruit and the root of our faithfulness.
(Romans 11:16)
While Israel is holy (set aside for Elohim's purpose) but some of those original branches were broken off and we were grafted in through faithfulness in Yeshua Messiah.
(Romans 11:16-17)
We cannot boast against those broken off branches of Israel because if their eyes are opened to Yeshua, then they are even better suited as Elohim's people than us.
(Romans 11:18-24)
