Gwen Stefani experienced writer’s block and crippling self-doubt when she first embarked on her solo career but eventually overcame this with the help of 4 Non-Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry

Their work together turned into “What you Waiting for?” which became the opening track and debut single from Stefani’s massively successful first solo album “Love. Angel. Music. Baby”, released in november 2004, which had gone triple platinum just 12 months later.

The album was described by one critic as a “riotous jumble of everything from '80s bubble-gum pop to hip-hop to "Fiddler on the Roof" gone mad on a pirate ship.”
