Tolkien “Scholar” says The Lord of the Rings Doesn’t Have Real Canon

A man claiming to be a Tolkien scholar is attempting to defend the Amazon Prime Video Lord of the Rings series, The Rings of Power, by saying Middle Earth doesn’t really have canon Amazon has to adhere to.

Up to this point Amazon has been trying to argue they have indeed been staying faithful to the canon, but now it appears that hasn’t been the case. Of course, Tolkien himself acknowledge there is room for others to add onto creative works, just so long as it doesn’t change what has been established. Doing that then takes the audience out and while they could be accommodating, they are under no obligation to be.
