Trying to Outsmart Police After Stealing a Car Goes Wrong

On April 11th, 2023, an officer, while sitting in his parked patrol vehicle, noticed a man driving without a seatbelt. Additionally, he discovered that the man's license plate had expired. As soon as the officer tried to make contact with the driver, the man fled at a very high speed. The officers deployed a stop stick which was effective and damaged the car’s wheels after which it crashed into a private lawn. The driver had fled the scene, but the police believed that he wouldn't have run far. The whole area was being surveyed by them and their chopper. Officers found a woman who showed them the CCTV footage of the moment when the suspect fled. Soon, the police found the man hiding in a tree. The man was charged with fleeing, driving with suspended license plate and failing to register a motor vehicle while the female was charged with possession of paraphernalia and violation of probation.
