Operation Lone Star is taking on their biggest project to date, installing triple strand razor wire from Brownsville to Zapata which is a stretch of 142 miles long.
The Task force east special response team is teaching engineer leaders the new technique for laying the wire, so they can get to work in multiple locations at the same time.
Behind the triple strand razor wire, they’re setting up anti-climb barriers that will have a line of razor wire at the top.
In Eagle Pass, The Texas army national guard is able to install 500 feet of wire and barrier in one morning.
They say the combination has proven to stop illegal migrants from getting into the country – because they can’t climb over it, and with the triple strand at the bottom, they can’t get through that way either.
