73 lawmakers in the House and Senate are demanding answers from the DOJ about the thousands of non-citizens that have been removed from the voter rolls and the ‘serious threat’ of potential voter fraud that’s facing the nation.
The lawmaker wrote a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland saying they were "deeply concerned" by the reports of noncitizens registering to vote and voting in federal elections.
They asked about the issue back in July, and never got a response. They want to know how many noncitizens have been prosecuted for voting, and the steps they’re taking to prevent illegal voting.
The letter cites a couple of examples, the 6,300 noncitizens on the Voter rolls in Virginia and the 6,500 non-citizens on the voter rolls in Texas, nearly 2,000 of them had a history of voting.
