On October 3, 2024, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation ensured the safe conduct of the 23rd rotation of observers of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission at the Zaporizhia NPP.

To do this, a ceasefire regime was declared on the route from the designated crossing point of the observers – the destroyed bridge in the village of Kamenskoye from 6.00 to 18.00, which was strictly observed by Russian servicemen.

During the inspection of the road in the area of the crossing, Russian sappers detected unexploded ordnance and fragments of foreign-made FPV drones left as a result of new systematic shelling from the Ukrainian side in the immediate vicinity of the NPP.

Despite the presence of non-cleared mines, Russian military personnel ensured the safe passage of the mission's observers and their delivery to the station.

Four inspectors arrived as part of the mission, their task is to monitor and assess the safety status of the Zaporizhia NPP. IAEA experts have been present at the NPP since September 1, 2022, after the first visit to the station by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
