YouTube BLOCKES AD blocker!

As part of this week's episode of "this week in social media" , we reported that it sounds like YouTube is going after AD blockers!

YouTube are starting to roll out, “ads into Pauses video”, will also be a cat and mouse game, most say using YouTube without an AD block or the internet in general, is a horrible user experience.

The argument some people make. If you “turn off your ad blocker” then you are supporting the creator by allowing them to make more money from the AD added to their videos.

However Penguinz0 Claimed in a video talking about this topic that “most creators would rather, the viewer had a good viewing experience and stay watching their content for longer, than a shit one, that means they leave the website.

Of course it is easy to understand why YouTube is doing this, as it is the MAIN way, 95% of the social media platforms make money. Penguin0’s point in the video talking about this, is focus on making a good experience for the user, so if the AD is good enough, then they may sit and watch it rather than skipping it.

And this does bring up a very clear point, when it comes to business overall in my view. If you want to be “successful” and “make it” focus on what challenge you fix for your client or customer.

And if someone is “made” to watch an AD they don’t care about, when they are just going to be a Pissed off at the AD or just leave the website. So surely even from a youtuber point of view, they would be creating a better world, for everyone if they focused on creating a better viewing experience, meaning people will watch more content on the site, and therefore watch more ads meaning YouTube get paid more?

This comes back to building a strong “hook” to giving your viewers into the AD, that it is “soooo good” they are pulled into to watch it!
