Israel said it would retaliate soon after Iran launched around 180 missiles at its territory. Israeli officials are reportedly planning their response but it's not yet clear what form it could take. Former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennet has urged the government to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities.

Israel views the Iranian nuclear progam as an existential threat. The New York Times reported, citing US officials, that Israel could target Iran's nuclear facilities in a possible response scenario, focusing on uranium enrichment facilities in Natanz. This facility is considered to be the core of Iran's nuclear program.

Israel says it intercepted many of the missiles in midair, and officials in Washington say US destroyers assisted in Israel's defense. Tehran, however, claimed that most of its missiles hit their targets. There were several reported injuries during the attack. Officials in the occupied West Bank said a Palestinian man was killed in Jericho by falling rocket fragments.
