X-Men ‘97 showrunner Beau DeMayo has said Disney gave his team notes instructing them to make the series come across as less gay.

Beau DeMayo was previously fired from the series and had his credits stripped because Disney alleged he behaved inappropriately behind the scenes. DeMayo says he was being discriminated against by the Walt Disney Company because he is gay. Since then Pixar animators that worked on Inside Out 2 said Disney wanted them to remove any insinuation that main character Riley was gay.
