The Whispering Pines

Whispering Pines is a middle grade supernatural horror novel by Heidi Lang and Kati Bartkowski about a small town threatened by otherworldly forces. The story follows Rae and Caden, two characters who are connected in an unexpected way and both have secrets to hide:
Rae
Rae is a 12-year-old who moves to Whispering Pines with her mother and sister after her father disappears without a trace. Rae knows what happened to her father, but no one believes her.
Caden
Caden has lived in Whispering Pines his entire life and has seen more than his fair share of weird. His mother runs a ghost hunting business in the town, and Caden has a dark secret that may explain why someone is stealing eyes from children in the town.

The book is described as a heart-pounding adventure that's a cross between Stranger Things and The X-Files. It's set in a town surrounded by sinister forests where the supernatural is real and terrifyingly close.
