It was the late 80's and I played in a band called The Roosters, (latterly calling ourselves Roosthouse). The band formed out of a previous band I was in called the Mess, who were wildly popular. They were fronted by a charismatic singer called Bob, who lived just down the road from me. He was able to charm any audience, as we ploughed through old Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and other assorted rock 'n' roll numbers. But ultimately we decided to start a power funk outfit with Adam on guitar, who also lived just down the same road as Bob. This we called "The Roosters", on account of Bob's "Foghorn Leghorn" impersonations. We got a few originals together (including the featured track "Just Coz I'm Mad"), played a few "power funk rock" covers, grabbed some backing singers and a drummer and we were off - fortunately with the large audiences from the Mess sticking around.
