Colt M16A1 Bowman Parts Kit Build | Part 1 - Parts Overview

In this video I go over my Colt M16A1 parts kit that I got from Bowman in May 2024. The cool thing about these kits is they come with a magwell stub, so you get the original Colt markings. From the serial range of the 9 millions (mine being 9150934), these are commercial export kits from the 1970s and early 1980s. And from the information on the tag, as well as comments from others who have also gotten these kits, they probably came from Malaysia.

My stub is going to get welded (not by me) to the back half of an 80%, finished out (by me), and then I'll assemble the kit on a new H&R 1:12 M16A1 barrel from PSA. Finish is TBD, but I'm looking at potentially using a moly resin if I can find the right color, and I might or might not weather it. Future videos will cover the rest of the build - it should make for a nice one!
