The ego has taught us that saying no can be rude, create conflict, seem selfish, and make us feel guilty and unloving. The ego has also taught us that saying yes when you really mean no should make us feel resentful, thus also making us feel bad or weak minded. And so as always, the ego’s solutions are in one manner or another self-destructive. Today instead of feeling the pressure to offer a response, say to the individual “let me get back to you on that.” This will give you the opportunity put aside the ego’s programming, in order to practice realigning with your truth. Ask your heart, what is the most genuine, self-loving, response you can offer? Remember that we are One, thus the answer that is most genuine and self-loving to yourself, will be the best and most loving response you can offer them. The more you practice checking in on yourself, and getting that saying no, can actually be the most self loving and therefore loving thing you can say, the easier it will be to say it.
