On Day 235 of my sobriety, I listened to Dan Vasc's cover of "Sound of Silence," a timeless track that has always resonated deeply with me. Before diving into the music, I reflected on the concept of silence. What is the sound of silence? To me, it's the sound of my own thoughts. When everything is quiet, we are left alone with our thoughts, which is why it's so important to be kind to ourselves. We are often our harshest critics, judging ourselves more than anyone else does. Someone once asked me, "Would you say the things you tell yourself to a friend?" Of course, the answer is no. So why say them to yourself? You should be your own best friend.

Listening to this track now, when life is good, feels so different. It motivates me and reminds me of how far I’ve come. Dan Vasc delivers this cover beautifully, and there’s something about his presence that resonates deeply with me. Though I don’t know him personally, I feel a strong connection to him through his music. This was truly an uplifting experience, and I'm excited to continue my journey, both with my sobriety and with music that inspires me.
