Russian Defence Ministry reports on repelling AFU attempt to invade Russian territory in Kursk region (30 September 2024)

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the operation to neutralise an enemy group, which broke into the territory of Kursk region.

The Sever Group of Forces continues the offensive operation in the Yubimovka, Daryino, Novy Put, Nikolayevo-Daryino, and Plekhovo region. Over the past 24 hours, the Group's units repelled two enemy counter-attacks in the direction of Lyubimovka and Plekhovo, and thwarted the enemy's attempts to attack in the direction of Olgovka and Kamyshevka. As a result, the AFU losses amounted to up to 60 troops killed and wounded, two armoured fighting vehicles, and a motor vehicle.
With the support of Army Aviation and artillery fire, five AFU attempts to break through the border of the Russian Federation towards Novy Put were foiled. The AFU sustained losses of more than 30 troops killed and wounded; three armoured fighting vehicles, one motor vehicle, and one U.S.-made M-88 recovery vehicle were eliminated.

Operational-Tactical Aviation and Missile Troops have inflicted fire damage in Sumy region on AFU concentration areas and reserves.

In the past 24 hours, the AFU losses amounted to more than 350 troops, eight armoured vehicles, including an infantry fighting vehicle, an armoured personnel carrier, and six armoured fighting vehicles, as well as four artillery guns, one Tunguska anti-aircraft missile gun system, one Israeli-made Rada SAM radar, one U.S.-made M-88 recovery vehicle, and 12 motor vehicles.

Since the beginning of hostilities in Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost more than 18,900 troops, 133 tanks, 65 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armoured personnel carriers, 856 armoured fighting vehicles, 562 motor vehicles, 150 artillery guns, 33 MLRS launchers, including eight of HIMARS and six of MLRS made by the USA, nine SAM launchers, five transport-loading vehicles, 38 electronic warfare stations and nine counter-battery radars, three air defence radars, 19 engineering and other vehicles, including 11 counter obstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, and two armoured recovery vehicles.

The operation to neutralise the AFU units is in progress.
