The White House says that the government needs to move away from c and c++ when it comes to software. In english that would be commercially available software like windows and Mac os.

Other countries have been doing it for years yet America is reliant on Microsoft and amazon aws. Realistically it isn't gonna happen because the elected will take a hit to their wallets in the form of investments and campaign donations.
