Is Death Real, is Death the Final End? | Is Life After Death Real?
Wikipedia says, "The first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can be transformed from one form to another."
An article titled: Energy Medicine says: "Everything, including humans, is made of energy. This means every atom, molecule, cell, tissue, and system in the body is composed of energy, creating what we call the human energy field."
Those two statements are in essence saying that we are made of energy and that energy cannot be destroyed, it can only change to another form. These fundamental truths invite us to consider the possibility that death, as we perceive it, is not the final chapter but rather a transformation—an evolution from one state of being to another.
In the teachings of "A Course in Miracles," we encounter a bold assertion: "There is no death." This statement challenges the very foundation of our worldly beliefs. The course suggests that death is nothing more than a dream—a central dream from which all illusions of separation and fear arise. If death is real, it argues, then life itself must be denied. But what if death is the illusion, and life, eternal and unchanging, is the only truth?
Imagine a world where the idea of death simply does not exist, where life is understood as an endless continuum of creation and transformation. In this view, the thought of death becomes the thought that we are separate from our Creator—a thought that breeds fear and sorrow. But what if we choose to see beyond this illusion?
What if we recognize that life is of the mind and in the mind, that we share in the eternal function of creation given to us by our Creator? In such a world, the idea of death loses its power, and we begin to see that our true essence cannot be touched by the finality we so often fear.
The course questions the belief in death, inviting us to consider whether a loving infinite God, who is the source of all life, would create or allow death. In the infinite scope of creation, does the concept of death even make sense? If life is eternal, as so many spiritual teachings suggest, then what we call death may be nothing more than a transition, a shedding of the physical form as we move into a new phase of existence.
