Donald Trump repeated personal attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris’ mental state during a rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday, echoing similar remarks from the night before in Wisconsin, where he called her "mentally impaired." Blaming Harris for illegal immigration, Trump stated, "Only a mentally disabled person could’ve allowed this to happen."

Some Republicans urged Trump to focus on policy issues instead. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Trump ally, said on CNN that while he disagreed with Trump’s comments, he advised him to focus on the economy, border, and inflation, areas where voters trust him.

Other GOP figures, like House Majority Whip Tom Emmer and former Gov. Larry Hogan, also criticized Trump’s remarks. Hogan called the comments "insulting," while Emmer suggested sticking to the issues.

Despite the criticism, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy defended Trump, citing concerns over Harris' handling of immigration.

The Trump campaign defended their stance, calling Harris "wholly unfit" for the presidency, while Harris' team dismissed Trump’s attacks as a sign he has nothing positive to offer voters.
