Is it real poverty or an Oscar-winning performance?

We know fake news, fake iPhones, fake Nike shoes, but can people fake poverty? On a hot summer night, a couple of Chinese men noticed a man and a young girl resting under the eaves of a building. The men were curious and approached the pair. Everything was captured in a video, which documents a father's and his family's struggle in China’s dreadful economy. However, one question remains: Is his story real? Please watch the video and help me investigate its authenticity.
