The gay men were spending time in a parish house near the city of Antwerp. The 69-year-old Englishman became ill after midnight, but could not be saved.

According to the local prosecutor's office, ecstasy tablets and amyl nitrite were found on them. The Belgian priest was arrested for drug trafficking.
