Ubisoft Censors Critics: Star Wars Outlaws Subreddit Bans Furious Gamers!
Star Wars Outlaws subreddit has been stirring up a storm of controversy by reportedly banning users who criticize the game. Yes, you heard that right—if you dare to voice your concerns or point out flaws in Ubisoft’s latest Star Wars title, you might find yourself banned or silenced.
Reddit user Uglycoyote_ brought this issue to light, revealing that the Star Wars Outlaws subreddit moderators are deleting posts and banning individuals who criticize the game during its early access phase. According to Uglycoyote_, they were banned without explanation after criticizing the game’s graphics, performance, and other issues. When they tried to contact the moderators for a reason, they were met with silence and eventually muted for seven days. This is not an isolated incident; Uglycoyote_ reported that many other users experienced the same treatment after posting negative feedback about the game.
The moderators of the subreddit seem to be engaging in what appears to be damage control ahead of the game’s official launch. Posts discussing bugs, poor performance, and even the "uglification" of the main character, Kay Vess, are being systematically removed. In one instance, Uglycoyote_ mentioned that a friend was banned simply for commenting on the censorship happening within the subreddit. This heavy-handed moderation has sparked outrage among players who feel that their voices are being stifled.
This isn't the first time we've seen this kind of behavior on Reddit, especially concerning Ubisoft games. Similar actions were taken on the Assassin’s Creed subreddit, where moderators threatened to ban users who questioned Ubisoft's portrayal of certain historical figures. The pattern is clear: any criticism of Ubisoft's games, particularly those that touch on sensitive or controversial topics, is being suppressed.
It’s a troubling situation when a community space meant for open discussion becomes a tool for censorship, especially for a game like Star Wars Outlaws, which is already under fire for its numerous issues. From game-breaking bugs to a protagonist that feels more like a token character than a genuine addition to the Star Wars universe, there’s a lot to criticize. But instead of addressing these concerns, it seems that the powers that be would rather sweep them under the rug.
Now, with that out of the way, let’s jump into the game itself. We’re going to experience Star Wars Outlaws live and see if the criticisms are warranted. Will we encounter the same bugs and performance issues that are plaguing other players? Or is there something redeemable in this highly controversial game? Stick around to find out!
