Change of Command Ceremony of International Space Station Takes Place

Aboard the International Space Station, Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko handed over command of the space station to NASA astronaut Suni Williams during a change of command ceremony September 22. Kononenko is completing a year-long mission on the station while Williams is in the midst of a long-duration mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration missions.
