US Veterans Become Heroes of Ukraine’s Military, Bradleys Play Key Role in Offensive Operations

One of the most prominent vehicles Ukraine has received from its Western partners is the 40-year-old Bradley. The infantry fighting vehicle has proven to be well-suited to the conditions of the war in Ukraine, especially thanks to its protection against drones, mines, and anti-tank weapons, making it a favorite of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the US has delivered more than 300 BradleysS since the Russian invasion in 2022. Despite their age and some needing repairs, the BradleysS have performed exceptionally well and have saved many Ukrainian soldiers’ lives.

The Bradley weighs nearly 28 tons, is operated by a crew of three, can carry six soldiers, and is equipped with a 25-millimeter cannon and anti-tank missile launchers. While many BradleysS have been damaged or destroyed, most have been repaired and returned to the front lines. Ukrainian mechanics prefer to repair the older vehicles because it is easier and faster.

The Pentagon plans to replace tThe Bradleys with lighter, more powerful, andD better-protected vehicles. The new vehicles are expected to use a modular architecture to facilitate software and hardware upgrades.
