Theme: When the judgment of God comes, it comes first to the people of God and then to the wicked. When the wicked appear to triumph it is only for a moment, their day of judgment will be final.

I. The Day of Reckoning brings Judgment - Micah 7:8-9
* A. The kingdom of Judah would face war from Assyria
* 1. God judges His people first - 1 Peter 4:17
* a. This is discipline from a loving Father - Hebrews 12:5-11
* b. The response of the righteous is repentance - Lamentations 3:39-40
* c. Leading to confession - 1 John 1:9
* d. The righteous fall but rise again - Proverbs 24:16
* 2. Judgment upon the wicked brings their eternal destruction
* B. The children of the God have the Lord plead their cause
* 1. Jesus Christ is the defense attorney in the courtroom of heaven - 1 John 2:1-2

* 1. They mock the righteous when God is disciplining them
* 2. They think when the righteous fall into sin and are disciplined that they are finished that is not so - Proverbs 24:16
* B. The righteous will see the wicked trampled down like mud - Romans 16:20
* 1. Any set backs for the saints are not final setbacks
* 2. Satan and all his minions will be cast into the lake of fire - Revelation 19:20-20:3
