Mollie Hemingway: Israel’s Campaign Against Hezbollah Is ‘Impressive’ and Historic

BAIER: “Which in and of itself is telling, Mollie, as we look live there we can see explosions and counter-explosions for people’s knowledge, Hezbollah has a network of tunnels. You thought Hamas had tunnels under Gaza. Hezbollah has exponential miles of tunneling and hiding and they have had their leadership go underground and they have obviously a lot more sophisticated weaponry and missiles that they have been using in the hundreds and thousands on Israel in the past weeks.”
HEMINGWAY: “Totally apart from what you think about the underlying political issues, what we have witnessed in the last couple of weeks is one of the most impressive military campaigns in history. Whether it was the pager situation which took out so many fighters relative to civilian casualties, whether it was the other explosives, the entire leadership structure of Hezbollah has been taken out here. This is something that is going to be written about in history books for a long time to come. And yes, there is concern about Iran because Iran has been using Hezbollah and Hamas as proxies in their efforts to destroy Israel. But, you know, it’s just been under a year since October 7th. So much time had to be spent on Hamas’s portion of things while Hezbollah was exploiting the situation and now that Israel is able to fight back here, it really is impressive and shows what happens when you want to win a war rather than spend a lot of time spending money on war and not actually achieving your objective.”
