In 1977, NASA launched Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 to explore the outer planets. They sent back images of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Voyager 1 is over 14 billion miles from Earth, and Voyager 2 is about 12 billion miles away. Both carry a Golden Record with sounds and images from Earth.
