While it is true that colonialism had its share of abuses and injustices, the focus on these negatives has obscured the significant benefits that many colonial administrations provided. Colonial rule often brought advancements in governance, infrastructure, healthcare, and education—systems that laid the groundwork for modern development in many post-colonial states.

In regions where post-colonial governments have struggled with corruption, instability, and poor governance, the legacy of effective colonial administration is often overlooked. In some cases, a return to these principles, or even voluntary re-colonization, could offer a solution to persistent challenges. Rather than viewing colonialism as an unqualified evil, it is time for a more balanced assessment—one that recognizes the progress it helped foster alongside the harm it caused.
