Helene triggers inland flooding, widespread power outages

Hurricane Helene, a Category 4 storm, caused life-threatening and damaging impacts in the Florida Panhandle and is continuing to affect the Southeast.

Heavy rain and strong winds are spreading into the southern Appalachians and Tennessee Valley.

AccuWeather warns of widespread flooding and damage in Georgia, the Carolinas, and beyond.

Helene, described as a “once-in-a-generation” storm, AccuWeather has reported.
