For most Americans, he is the historical bogeyman, "That guy who fought against Texas." Everyone else probably hasn't heard of him. But Santa Anna stands out not as a great general, not as a great politician, but as one of the greatest opportunists in history, immaculately using every opportunity thrown at this to gain power, becoming president of Mexico 11 different times, through 6 different coups, and causing a lot of chaos in the process.

1. I have used a very loose definition of "Army" in this video, NATO defines an army as a force of around 100,00 men. However the definition I have used is simply any noteworthy number of armed men. Do not take this video as a fully accurate depiction of military history
