Capitalism is not a socioeconomic system as it is almost always portrayed. Instead, capitalism is the goal oriented activity of trying to get more money out of a business or investment than is put into it. A socioeconomic system, on the other hand, is a logically organized interconnected network of goods and services being provided to both the private and public sector. And it is the job of the organizers of that network to determine the extent, limitations and reliance that should be put on the behavior of capitalists engaging in the behavior of capitalism within that system.
