Trout Fishing at Lake Louise in the Wyoming Wind River Range

Join me on my fishing adventure at Lake Louise outside of Dubois, Wyoming, in the Wind River Range. This was an acclimation hike to a remote fishing lake starting at the Glacier Trail Trailhead, in late July of 2024. Because I reside close to sea level on the east coast, I arrived at the trailhead a couple of days early in order to adjust to the elevation. My ultimate goal was to climb nearby Gannett Peak later in the week when my climbing team arrived. Lake Louise is about a 2.75 mile hike (nearly 6 miles roundtrip) from the Trail Lake Road parking lot with over 1,100 feet of elevation gain. This is a spectacular trail in the Wind River Range up the Torrey Creek Canyon and there are great views in all directions. I caught over a dozen trout and cooked two of them for lunch right on the shoreline. The rest of the trout I released back into the lake. I had to wait out a couple of brief pop-up thunderstorms which is typical for summer. SUBSCRIBE to my channel to see how the rest of the trip went and if I made it to the summit of Gannett Peak.
