Bodycam footage was released Wednesday of the standoff at a Farmington Hills home, where a man allegedly shot at police and hit multiple homes in the neighborhood.

The situation unfolded when Farmington Hills police responded to a domestic violence assault at a home in the area of Middlebelt and 12 Mile roads on Sept. 15.

It’s alleged the suspect, 32-year-old Dejuan Patrick Evans, assaulted a woman and threatened her life in front of her children. The victim’s child called 911.

Police footage shows the woman run from the house as officers arrived. She reportedly told police she was assaulted, who attempted to intervene with the suspect when he opened fire.

In the bodycam footage, multiple gunshots can be heard.

The officers took cover and requested numerous agencies and the SWAT team for backup. Officers later learned two children were still in the home, and Evans was reportedly trying to break into the room they barricaded themselves in.

The children were able to run out of the house, and a short time later, the suspect opened fire again. Police said multiple homes in the surrounding area were struck by his gunfire. Dashboard cameras captured multiple cruisers struck by gunfire.

A sniper from the SWAT team fired one shot in return fire and injured Evans. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office said he is still at a hospital in custody and under guard.

Evans has been charged with 13 felonies. Here’s a breakdown of those charges:

* Three counts of Assault with Intent to Murder
* One count of Firearm Possession by a Prohibited Person
* Two counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
* Six counts of Felony Firearm Second or Subsequent Offense
* One count of Domestic Violence
