Over 1,000 fires in Portugal burn 330,000 acres!

In this video, we report on 1,000 fires burning in Portugal, including 128 major fires that have burned over 330,000 acres total and claimed 9 lives, 4 of which were firefighters. The worst of these fires struck the Aveiro and Coimbra regions, burning over 50 homes and several cars.

We show strange fire behavior and burn patterns, just like on Maui and elsewhere, such as melted glass and aluminum, tree leaves intact right above burned cars and homes, and the edges of structures catching fire first, along the entire edge at once and burning more evenly than expected.

We also show the plans for Aveiro, known as the "Aveiro Tech City", which joins a long list of cities being redeveloped into "Smart Cities", by any means necessary. Aveiro Tech City will include several of the UN's buzzwords and themes that we've been covering in our Smart City videos, such as "Internet of Things" (IoT), Digital Twin, real time data sharing and tracking, complete with drone surveillance etc.
