The Need for Leadership and Mentorship in Army Special Forces and Law Enforcement

This conversation explores the importance of mentorship and the lessons learned from experienced leaders in both Army Special Forces and Law Enforcement. Seth sits down with Jim Holder and Matt Breitbach, to share their personal experiences with mentorship and the impact it had on their military and law enforcement careers.

Matt graduated from West Point and spent his military career as an Officer with the elite Army Green Berets. Jim retired as a patrol Sergeant with a mid-size Police department in Southern California. Both men had numerous experiences of intense trauma during their careers, and relied on mentors to show them how to handle the types of incidents that the general public almost never experiences... and probably never should. Matt touches on the helicopter crash that almost ended his life and Jim shares the story of tragically losing his beat partner to gunfire, which sent him on a downward spiral of guilt that almost culminated in him taking his own life.
