The Barista Expresso espresso machine features an integrated cleaning cycle, which should be carried out periodically and will notify you with a flashing light when it needs to be cleaned. We have created a step-by-step guide on how to perform a cleaning cycle on your machine.

Directions:
1. Insert the one cup filter basket followed by the grey silicone cleaning disc, which was supplied with your machine, into the portafilter. Once inserted, place a cleaning tablet into the center of the disc.
2. Insert and lock the portafilter into place in the group head. Ensure that the water tank is filled with cold water to the max line, the drip tray is empty and the machine is turned off.
3. Press the ‘1-cup’ and ‘2-cup’ button simultaneously with the ‘Power’ button for ten seconds. The cleaning cycle will now begin and last for approximately five minutes.
4. The machine will beep twice when completed. Remove the portafilter and ensure the tablet has completely dissolved. If the tablet has not dissolved, repeat the steps above until it has done so.
