Robinson XCR-L in 6.5 Grendel | The Military Missed This One!

Welcome back to Tactical Weapon Combat Ready! In this video, we’re taking a deep dive into the Robinson XCR-L, chambered in 6.5 Grendel. This rifle is everything I think the military should have gone for when considering their future standard-issue weapons. The 6.5mm round delivers solid power while still fitting into the AR-15 platform, offering an excellent balance of performance, reduced recoil, and range.

Key Highlights:
6.5 Grendel: A hard-hitting round with less recoil, perfect for both close-range and mid-range shooting.
Compact AR-15 Platform: A smaller receiver with a bigger caliber gives you mobility and power without sacrificing weight or comfort.
Modular Design: The XCR-L features a removable barrel, so you can switch between calibers with ease for different missions.
Ambidextrous Controls: The rifle is designed for both left- and right-handed shooters, making it versatile and user-friendly.
We also take the XCR-L out for some long-range shooting. From 200 yards to 800 yards, this rifle holds its own with a 9-inch barrel, which is pretty impressive for a compact setup like this. We even attempt a 1,000-yard shot—and while I missed, the rifle's potential is undeniable.

Also, a special shoutout to my friend American Nomad Apparel, who passed away recently. Please visit their website and check out their products to support his family.

The military's move to a 6.8x51mm round might have its benefits, but for a versatile, compact weapon with reduced recoil and ample stopping power, I think the 6.5 Grendel in the Robinson XCR-L is the real winner.
