Thousands of people in south Lebanon flee intense Israeli bombardment

Israel has launched extensive air strikes across Southern Lebanon, killing at least 274 people. More than a thousand have been injured in the attacks.

Israel has issued warnings by text, phone calls and radio, telling civilians to stay away from suspected Hezbollah sites.

Tens of thousands of Lebanese are fleeing north amid heavy bombardment in the south. Schools in Lebanon have been closed and hospitals are cancelling non-essential operations to make room for urgent cases.
