Founders Day Menéndez Landing 2024 Part 2

St. Augustine, Florida celebrates Founder's Day on September 8th to commemorate the Spanish founding of the city on September 8, 1565. The 2024 celebration will take place on Saturday, September 7th and will include a variety of events, including.

Landing
At 10 AM, Menéndez and his crew will land at Mission Nombre de Dios in chalupa boats. This event is free.

Mass
At 11 AM, a Catholic Mass will be held at the Rustic Altar on the Mission grounds. This event is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs.

Procession
At 12 PM, a procession will take place from the Mission to the Fountain of Youth. This event is free.

Thanksgiving meal
At 1 PM, a reenactment of the first Thanksgiving meal will take place at the Fountain of Youth. Regular admission applies.

Encampment and demonstrations
From 1–5 PM, an encampment and weapons demonstrations will take place at the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park. Regular admission applies.
