*Recent Volcanism Discovered on the Moon
Scientists have uncovered evidence of volcanic activity on the Moon as recently as 125 million years ago. This discovery, published in the journal Science, suggests the Moon was volcanically active much longer than previously believed, with eruptions occurring during the era when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The findings are based on radioisotope dating of volcanic glass beads found in lunar soil samples collected by China's Chang'e 5 mission.
*Strange Phenomena at the Moon's South Pole
When astronauts return to the Moon's surface as part of the Artemis III mission to the lunar south pole, they'll encounter a vastly different environment from what the Apollo astronauts experienced. The unique lighting conditions will create extremely long shadows and a hovering sun, making navigation and exploration particularly challenging.
*A New Crew Arrives at the International Space Station
The Russian Soyuz MS-26 capsule successfully docked with the International Space Station just three hours after its launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The mission, carrying two Russian cosmonauts and an American astronaut, marks the beginning of their six-month stay aboard the ISS.
