We feel justified to retaliate, to strike back, believing that this will somehow restore balance or protect us from further harm. But the truth is, you always attack yourself first. The moment you give in to anger, you are choosing to sacrifice your own peace of mind and ability to think clearly.

You can have anger or peace of mind, but you cannot have both. This is a critical truth that we must come to understand if we are to ever experience true inner peace. Anger is the ego’s tool, a weapon that keeps us trapped in a cycle of fear, judgment, attack and separation. It convinces us that we are justified in our rage, but in reality, it only deepens our wounds, creating more pain, suffering, difficulty and struggle.

The Holy Spirit calls to you in these moments of anger, whispering a different path—a path of forgiveness and healing. Forgiveness is not just about letting go of what others have done; it is about freeing yourself from the tight chains of anger and resentment. When you choose forgiveness, you are choosing to be restored to peace of mind. You are choosing to see the world through the eyes of love, rather than the distorted lens of fear and anger.

Peace of mind is not something that exists outside of you, waiting to be found. It is within you, always present, always accessible. God goes with you wherever you go, offering you peace and comfort in every moment. But this peace can only be experienced when we are willing to let go of the lies we’ve been taught—the lies that say anger is justified, that revenge will bring satisfaction, and that we are islands separate from one another.

The truth is hidden deep within the lies you've been taught. The world teaches us to cling to our anger, to protect ourselves at all costs, but this only leads to more pain. Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door to truth, sweeping away the distortions that have kept us in darkness. Peace of mind is the dwelling place of God Himself.
