River cobbles appear to be from highway construction fill along Techatticup Wash. I think the imagined pioneer road below the water fall never was as adjacent Eldorado Canyon has no large falls for the road to the river. The road probably dead ends above the fall at the mine shown in the wash. The road crews of the 1940's probably still remembered how to do rock work shown under todays paved highway.
