Man, 56, shot and killed while sitting in front room of a home in Woodlawn neighborhood, Chicago pol

A 56-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting in the front room of a home Monday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the city's South Side, according to Chicago police. Police say the victim was sitting in a home in the 6600 block of St. Lawrence Avenue around 8 p.m. when shots were fired from the sidewalk. The victim was hit and taken to an area hospital by Chicago Fire Department personnel with a gunshot wound to the torso, police say, and later pronounced dead.
